Charging Sensor
When you receive the Minut sensor it's usually not fully charged, so start out with charging it. The battery can last for up to a year before charging is needed. The Gen 3 sensor can be hardwired indoors only.
You can follow the charging progress at the battery indicator on the back of the sensor. The lights blink when charging and turn solid when charged. A full charge should take approximately 1-4 hours.
Where should I place the sensor?
The Minut device can be installed almost anywhere, but there are few things to have in mind when choosing a location.
We always recommend attaching your device to the ceiling such that it is directly facing the floor. Minut detects movement below its mounting position. The motion detection range is approximately 25 sqm (269 sqft) in a circle around the unit. When mounted at a standard ceiling height of 2,4 meters (7,9 ft) this translates to a radius of about 2.5m from the device.
The exception for this is if you have very high ceilings. Minut should not be placed higher than 3 m above the floor, in these special cases placing it on the wall would be preferable.
For the best coverage of your short-term rental property, we suggest you place the sensor in a common area, like the Living room.
The magnetic plate is fastened with an adhesive to the ceiling. For a ceiling with a rugged surface, you can choose to use flat head screws, easily found at your local hardware store.
Tips when using the Cigarette detection feature
Don't hide the sensor away on top of furniture, place the sensor on the ceiling in the middle of the room
Avoid placing the sensor by stoves, fireplaces
Avoid placing the sensor close to ventilations and ACs.
Avoid placing the sensor in heated & freezing indoor environments

How to install your Generation 3 sensor?
The sensor is installed in your properties via the mobile app.
Any team member with access to the home can install the sensor.
This article will guide you through the installation steps
Open the Minut mobile app and press Homes at the bottom of the screen. Choose the home you wish to install the sensor in.
If you are installing additional sensors in your home, click on the + sign in the Sensors section in your home.
Select your Sensor (Minut Generation 3)
Turn the sensor OFF (make sure you hear the audio confirmation)
Turn the sensor ON, by pressing the button on the back of the sensor
(make sure your Minut is glowing purple)
Click on Continue in the app
Allow Bluetooth to be turned on
Pick the WIFI network that you want your sensor to be connected to
Important: If Bluetooth configuration is not available, you will be guided to install the sensor by temporarily connecting to a network named Point Configuration (steps are below)
Select Indoor or Outdoor mode
All done! Place your sensor on the magnetic plate. The next step is to set your threshold here
How to connect the Sensor with Point Configuration:
If Bluetooth configuration isn’t available you will be directed to install the sensor by connecting to a network named Point Configuration.
Open the Minut mobile app and press Homes at the bottom of the screen. Choose the home you wish to install the sensor in.
If you are installing additional sensors in your home, click on the + sign in the Sensors section in your home.
Select your Sensor (Minut Generation 3)
Turn on your sensor by pressing the button on the back of the sensor
(make sure your Minut is glowing purple) Click on Connect to the Minut
Join network “Point Configuration”
Android users: You will be taken to your WIFI settings to do this- remember to click the back arrow to return to the Minut apps installation flow
Pick the WIFI network that you want your sensor to connect to
Select Location mode (Indoors or Outdoors)
All done! You can place your sensor on the magnetic plate. The next step is to set your threshold.
What to keep in mind when the sensor is in Outdoor Mode:
Avoid direct sunlight or rain
To reduce rain splash, place device at 20 inches/50 cm above ground
Don’t install close to noisy equipment such as AC units
If you're installing the device outdoors, you should rotate the Gen 3 Sensor so that the motion sensor is in the bottom right corner (the clear circle). This is to ensure the USB-C port is best protected from rain or other weather conditions.
AudioID: When it comes to noise detection, AudioID has been applied so that noise alerts won't be triggered by wind blowing around the sensor, this will prevent false positives.
The following features are not available when the sensor is in outdoor mode:

Security alarm
Alarm sound and glass break recognition
Nightlight
Motion graphs
Mold risk analysis
Almost freezing insight
Cigarette Detection
Is the Sensor Waterproof: The Minut Sensor is not waterproof, but is instead weatherproof. If placed outdoors we strongly recommend to place the device under a roof/cover. The sensor can withstand rain, temperature fluctuations, and dust.
