European Union

Minut is a registered entity in Sweden. It collects VAT on sales to all EU countries in accordance with EU tax regulations. Prices shown at checkout for EU customers include VAT at the rate applicable in your country.

Purchasing ex-VAT as an EU business

If you are a VAT-registered business in an EU country other than Sweden, you can purchase Minut plans and hardware at the ex-VAT price. To do this, you need to provide a valid EU VAT registration number when placing your order.

Who qualifies

VAT-registered businesses in EU countries (excluding Sweden, where standard VAT applies)

What you need

A valid EU VAT registration number. You can verify yours at ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies

How to apply

Add your VAT number before completing your order. Enter it during checkout at store.minut.com. If you experience any issues, contact hello@minut.com before placing your order as VAT cannot be adjusted or removed from an invoice after purchase.

How ex-VAT pricing is calculated

To calculate the ex-VAT price, divide the VAT-inclusive price by 1 + your country's VAT rate.

Example

A customer in France (20% VAT) purchasing a Pro plan at €180 inc. VAT:
€180 ÷ 1.20 = €150 ex. VAT

The ex-VAT price is €150. The €30 difference is the VAT element, which the customer does not pay if they have a valid VAT number.

Not sure of your country's VAT rate? EU VAT rates vary by country and are listed at european-union.europa.eu. Common rates: France 20%, Germany 19%, Spain 21%, Italy 22%, Netherlands 21%, Sweden 25%.

United Kingdom

Minut is a registered company in the United Kingdom. As a result, Minut is obliged to collect, report, and pay VAT on all sales to UK customers. UK prices include 20% VAT.

VAT rate

20% applied to all hardware and subscription purchases

Can UK customers buy ex-VAT?

No. All UK purchases are made inclusive of VAT. There is no ex-VAT option for UK customers at point of purchase.

VAT-registred UK businesses

If your business is VAT-registered in the UK, you can reclaim the VAT element from HMRC through your normal VAT return process. Download your invoice from the mobile app.

United States

Minut is a registered entity in the US.

States where sales tax applies

California, Florida, and New Jersey. Sales tax is applied to hardware purchases shipped to addresses in these states. The exact rate depends on the delivery location within the state.

All other US states

No sales tax is applied. The price shown at checkout is the final price.

Other countries

For customers in all other countries, no VAT is applied to your Minut invoice. The price you pay is the full price with no tax element included or deducted

Can you deduct VAT yourself? No. Because Minut does not apply VAT to invoices for customers outside the EU and UK, there is no VAT element on the invoice to deduct. Your full purchase price is a cost to your business. Any local tax obligations you may have in your country are separate from your Minut invoice and are your responsibility to manage under local tax law.

Note on Canada: Import duties and fees may apply when your order arrives. These are separate from VAT and are charged by Canadian customs authorities not by Minut. See the Customs, duties and taxes article for more information.

How to find invoices

You can find your invoices in the web app in web.minut.com/billing

Past invoices are listed in chronological order and can be downloaded individually as PDFs.
