Account deletion is permanent. Before requesting it, make sure you have completed the steps below, particularly around active subscriptions and data you may want to keep. Once deletion is processed, it cannot be reversed.
Before you delete
Work through this checklist before submitting a deletion request. Some of these steps cannot be completed after deletion has been initiated.
Cancel your subscription: go to web.minut.com/billing → Plan, Billing & Payments → Cancel subscription. Account deletion does not automatically cancel an active subscription, and outstanding charges will still be collected.
Cancel Call Assist if active: cancel from the same billing section before requesting deletion
Download any invoices you need for accounting or tax purposes as invoices are no longer accessible after deletion
Download any incident reports you may need as all historical event data is deleted with the account
Disconnect integrations: if you have connected Airbnb, a PMS, or other third-party tools, disconnect them from the relevant platform as well as from Minut
Notify team members: anyone in your organisation will lose access to all rental units and data when the account is deleted
Not sure about deleting? If you just want to stop monitoring a property, you can delete the rental unit or turn noise monitoring off without deleting your account. If you want to take a break from Minut, you can cancel your subscription and keep your account open. Your data is retained for the period covered by your plan.
How to request deletion
Account deletion is initiated by email and it cannot be done from within the app or web app. Only the organisation owner can request deletion of an organisation account.
Email privacy@minut.com to request account deletion. Include:
Your Minut account email address
Confirmation that you want the account and all associated data permanently deleted
Your reason for deletion (optional, but helps us improve)
Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Once processed, your account, all rental units, all sensor data, all event history, all invoices, and all team member access are permanently removed. There is no recovery option.
What happens to your data
Personal data | All personal data associated with your account is anonymised upon deletion. This includes your name, email address, payment details, and any personal information linked to your profile. |
Anonymised data | Minut may retain anonymised data indefinitely for statistical and analytical purposes. This data cannot be traced back to you or your account. |
Rental unit data | All rental units, sensor event history, noise logs, incident reports, and occupancy data are permanently deleted. |
Invoices | Billing records are deleted. Download any invoices you need before requesting deletion. |
Team member accounts | Team members' own Minut accounts are not deleted; only their access to your organisation is removed. They can still log in to their own accounts. |
Hardware | Physical sensors are not affected. They will need to be factory reset before they can be installed on another account. |
For full details on data retention and how Minut handles personal data, see the Minut Privacy Policy.
GDPR and data rights
If you are based in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have rights over your personal data under GDPR and UK GDPR. These include the right to access your data, correct it, restrict its processing, and request its deletion.
Right to erasure | You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@minut.com. Minut will process your request in accordance with applicable data protection law. |
Right to access | You can request a copy of all personal data Minut holds about you. Email privacy@minut.com with a subject of "Data access request" and your account email address. |
Data controller | Minut Home AB (Sweden) is the data controller for your personal data. Contact details are available in the Privacy Policy. |

If you are a team member, not the owner
If you are a team member (Admin, Member, or Operator) in someone else's organisation and want to remove yourself, or have your personal data deleted, the process is different.
Remove yourself from an organization | Ask the organisation owner or an Admin to remove you from the organisation via the Team tab. This removes your access without deleting your personal Minut account. |
Delete your own account | If you want your personal Minut account deleted entirely, email privacy@minut.com with your account email address and a request for full deletion. |
GDPR deletion request | For data erasure requests relating to your personal data only (not the organisation's data), email privacy@minut.com and reference your right to erasure under GDPR. |
