Setting up your account as a Host

How to set up your Minut account and create your rental unit

This article will guide you through the process of setting up your account in order to get started with your Minut experience.

It covers every step from creating your account to configuring noise thresholds and connecting your booking platform so Minut always knows when guests are present.

Create your Minut account

Create your account

  • Enter the name that you wish the account to be under

  • Enter the email address that will own this Minut account

  • Choose a password.

Check your inbox for a verification email from Minut and tap the link to confirm your address. You need to verify your email before you can activate a rental unit or add a payment method.

Once verified, open the Minut app and log in with your email and password. Your account is now fully active.

Didn’t receive the verification email? Check your spam or junk folder first. If it’s not there, tap Resend verification email in the app or at web.minut.com. If you still don’t receive it after a few minutes, contact hello@minut.com.

Add a payment method

A payment method must be added to your account in order for you to make any purchase.

  • Click on the profile icon on your left

  • Click on Plan, Billing & Payment

  • Add credit card details

Minut only accepts credit cards. Also, your card must be issued in the same country as your country of residence.

Purchase a plan (and a sensor)

Every Minut setup requires two things: a sensor (hardware) and a subscription plan. Both are purchased together from the Minut online store.

Minut has 3 plans: Starter, Standard or Pro.

Order your subscription(s) and sensor(s)

  1. Log into the store.minut.com with your Minut account using the button in the top right corner. This ensures your order is linked to the correct account.

  2. Choose your Plan: Select whether you want a Starter, Standard or Pro plan.

  3. Select your sensor and quantity

  4. Add optional hardware

  5. Enter your shipping address

  6. Complete Payment

Create an organization

When you create a Minut account, an organisation is created automatically. It acts as the container for everything in your account: rental units, team members, billing, integrations, and settings.

Choose a name that reflects your business or property portfolio. This name is visible to all team members you invite. You can change it later from your organisation settings

You are automatically assigned as the Owner of the organisation. From here you can add rental units, invite team members, and configure settings.

Creating a rental unit triggers a subscription charge

  • by either using a prepaid rental unit on your account (for customers that have purchased a subscription on the online store)

  • or charging your payment method automatically (for customers that already have a device and/ or only wanted to purchase a plan).

Create your rental unit when you're ready to install your sensor! Your subscription starts when you activate your first rental unit in the app.A rental unit without a sensor or a deactivated sensor will still be considered as an active rental unit with an active subscription.

  1. Open the Properties tab: Tap Properties in the bottom navigation bar of the Minut app. This shows a list of all your existing rental units.

  2. Tap the + icon: Tap the + icon in the upper right corner of the Properties screen to start creating a new rental unit.

  3. Enter the rental unit name and address : Type a name that can be easily recognized. You can change it later if need be. Add the property’s full address.

  4. Confirm billing and create unit: The app will show you a billing summary before confirming. Review the charge, then tap Create rental unit (or Confirm) to proceed. This action charges your payment method or uses a prepaid credit — it cannot be undone

  5. Your unit is created: The new rental unit now appears in your Properties list. It’s ready for a sensor to be installed. Tap the unit to open it, then tap + under Devices to begin sensor installation.

  1. Go to Properties in the left navigation sidebar

  2. Click Create a new rental unit button on the right hand side

  3. Add the unit name and address: Type a name that can be easily recognized. You can change it later if need be. Add the property’s full address.

Next Steps
