Getting started with tasks

Assign and track cleaning and maintenance across your properties- manually, by automation, or on a recurring schedule.

Written by Emilie Pain

Minut Tasks lets you create, assign, and track operational tasks across your properties - all without switching to a separate tool. Whether it's a post-checkout clean, a smoke alarm inspection, or a one-off maintenance job, Tasks keeps your team aligned and makes sure nothing is missed.

What you can do with Tasks

  • Post-checkout cleaning

Automatically create a cleaning task when a stay ends - assigned to your cleaner, with a checklist of what to do.

  • Maintenance tracking

Create one-off or repeating maintenance tasks - smoke alarm checks, filter changes, lock battery inspections - and assign them to the right person.

  • Sensor maintenance

Low battery and offline sensor tasks are created automatically when Minut detects an issue, and completed automatically when it's resolved.

  • Recurring schedules

Set repeating tasks on a fixed schedule - weekly, monthly, or after a set number of days - with consistent instructions every time.

Who can use Tasks

Admins and Members can create, assign, and complete tasks. The Operator role gives cleaning and maintenance staff access to their assigned tasks only - without access to sensor data.

Recommended setup sequence

You don't need to set everything up at once. Start with the automations - they deliver the most value immediately- then build out manual tasks and repeating schedules as your team gets comfortable.

  1. Enable the Check-out clean automation

Go to Tasks → Automations → Check-out clean and toggle it on. A cleaning task will be created automatically every time a stay ends, scheduled for checkout time.

Low battery and offline sensor automations are on by default - no setup needed

  2. Invite your cleaning and maintenance team

Invite team members and assign them the Operator role so they can view and complete tasks without accessing sensor data.

  3. Create your first manual task

Tap the + icon in the Tasks tab to create a task manually- add a title, type, due date, assignee, and optional checklist.

  4. Set up a repeating task

For anything that happens on a regular schedule- smoke alarm checks, deep cleans, filter replacements- set it up as a repeating task and it runs automatically on the schedule you define.

Already using Tasks? If you were part of the early beta, all your tasks, automations, and team assignments carry over. Tasks is now available on all plans with no beta sign-up required.
