The integration between Minut and Google Nest will allow you to sync your Minut properties with Nest thermostats to save energy by automatically turning the thermostat off in between bookings.

  • Turn the Google Nest thermostat to "Eco" mode when a booking ends (at checkout time)

  • Set the thermostat's temperature and mode for the upcoming stays, and customize how early the adjustments should take place before guests arrive

The integration between Minut and Google Nest works with the Nest Thermostat, Nest Thermostat E, and Nest Learning Thermostat.

The OFF mode only heats or cools your rental unit when safety temperatures are reached. Here’s how to configure them.

All integrations can be linked via the Minut web app.

Step 1: Installing

For this integration to work, you first need to set up an account with Google Home, and install the Google Nest Thermostat in your properties.

Step 2: Connect Minut with Google Nest

After you've set up your devices head over to the Minut web app -> Integrations.

Find Google Nest and click “Connect”.

You'll be asked to sign in with your Google account and approve that Minut can access your Google Nest devices.

Make sure you give permissions for:

  • Seeing information about your Google home

  • Accessing and controlling all the thermostats that you have in the rental unit.

Currently, Google only allows to connect one Google account to a Minut account.

Step 3: Link your Rental Units

Link your Minut properties with your Google structures (properties). This will ensure that the correct thermostats are controlled.

For each linked rental unit you will see:

  • How many thermostat devices it will control

  • The status of them (if any of the thermostats becomes inactive, or no devices are installed at all, it will be displayed here).

Step 4: Add your Stays

Be sure to add your bookings, either by entering them manually or by integrating Minut with Airbnb or your property management system.

Remember to :

  • To configure the “Thermostat mode” for each rental unit to specify which mode it should be turned on to before the next check-in.

Your Nest thermostat mode will be switched to “Eco” when the stay ends and set to “Heat” mode (20°C) 3 hours before the next stay starts as default.

Step 5: Save Energy

Your Nest thermostat mode will be switched to “Eco” when the stay ends and set to “Heat” mode (20°C/68°F) 3 hours before the next stay starts as default.

You can edit the mode, temperature and time in Minut. You can also set up "Eco" mode temperatures in your Google Nest app.
