When to Use Locations vs. Buildings
Understanding the difference between Locations and Buildings is essential for setting up your properties in the most efficient way:
✅ Use Locations when:
Grouping units by region, city, neighborhood, or branch.
You want to assign team members to manage properties across a geographic area.
You manage units in different addresses.
📌 Example: Create a Location for “Barcelona Region” and assign local staff access to all units in that area.
✅ Use Buildings when:
You’re managing multiple units in the same physical address.
Properties are part of a hotel, hostel, aparthotel, multi-family home, or apartment complex.
You want to reflect a real-world building structure.
📌 Example: Create a Building for “Calle Mallorca 42” to group all apartment units at that address.
How to create a Location or Building:
From the Minut Web App, navigate to the Properties tab and click Locations
Click Create Location or Building in the top right corner
Enter your Location or Building name
Press the “Add rental unit” button to add the rental units that should be a part of this Location.
