Communicating with stays when they arrive/depart

Scheduled Check-in/Check-out message

Minut can now help you communicate with your stays more effectively and efficiently. With scheduled check-in/check-out, this feature helps you communicate with your stays with minimal effort on your part.

To schedule your messages: Go to the Messaging tab in the web app, or in the mobile app as shown below:

Click Add a message (or the + sign on mobile) and choose one of the templates and edit your message.

Pick the timing, save the message, and you’re all done - This will be your default message.

Shortcodes:

To give you more freedom when you draft the messages, we let you add shortcodes. These are bits of information specific to each rental unit, and they will vary between units and stays. Examples include units and stay names as well as check-in and check-out dates.



Shortcodes can be added from the message keyboard.

To configure home specific shortcodes, such as check-in instructions go to:

Unit settings > Shortcodes

Below are some message templates to inspire you:

Upcoming stay

When: 3 days before check-in


What to include:

  • Remind your stays about their upcoming stay, and set the right expectations.

  • Share the check-in instructions.

  • Make sure to include your rental unit name so that stays know who the message is coming from.

Template:

We're looking forward to welcoming you to {{unit_name}}! Here are the check-in instructions: {{checkin_instructions}}

Check-in day

When: 3 hours before check-in


What to include:

  • Remind your stays about check-in time.

  • Include the check-in instructions even if you’ve shared them previously - guests will appreciate having them at hand.

  • If you’re using a smart lock, share the access code.

  • Make sure to include your rental unit name and any other details that the stays need to check-in successfully.

Template:

We can’t wait to welcome you to {{unit_name}} today! The rental unit will be ready for you at 12 pm. You can access it by entering the code {{unit_access_code}}. Here are the check-in instructions: {{checkin_instructions}}

What to include:

  • Welcome the stays to your rental unit and share any details that they will need to enjoy their stay.

  • You can mention your House Rules, where your welcome booklet is, or suggest local attractions.
