Zapier is available on the Pro Plan.
Zapier lets you connect Minut to thousands of apps, such as Slack, Google Sheets, email or lighting systems, so they can react automatically when Minut detects something in one of your Rental units.
What you can automate
You can trigger a Zap when:
Temperature is too high or too low, and when it's back to normal
Noise is loud
Noise monitoring sends its first, second or third warning
An alarm (smoke or CO) is heard in the Rental unit
Motion is detected while the alarm is armed
A Sensor is removed from, or put back on, its mounting plate
The button on a Sensor is pressed
Smoking is detected
A Sensor's battery is low
Each event sends easy-to-use details to Zapier, such as the event name, the time it happened (in the Rental unit's local time), the Sensor name, the Rental unit name and values like the sound level.
Connect Minut with Zapier
In the Minut web app, open Integrations and choose Zapier. This takes you to the Minut app on Zapier and setup instructions.
On Zapier, add Minut as an app, sign in with your Minut account and allow access. The Rental units you use must be on a plan that includes Zapier.
Build your Zap by choosing a Minut trigger and the app and action you want.
Example: get an email when noise is detected
In Zapier, choose Minut as the trigger app and pick a noise trigger, for example "Noise Monitoring First Warning".
Connect your Minut account when asked. Zapier shows your most recent matching event so you can see real data while you build.
Add an email action and use the Minut details (Rental unit name, Sensor name, time, sound level) in the subject and message.
Test the Zap and turn it on.
Good to know
Each Rental unit needs the Pro Plan. If a Rental unit's plan changes and no longer includes Zapier, its events stop being sent to your Zaps.
Each Zap uses one Minut event. There is no "any event" trigger.
If Zapier can't receive an event when it happens, that event isn't sent again.
The third warning trigger also fires if noise keeps escalating after the third warning.
If you set up two Zaps for the same event pointing to the same destination, the second may fail to save.
Zaps only receive events from Rental units you have access to.
Some events, such as alarm heard, aren't sent for Sensors installed outdoors.
Not every Minut event is available in Zapier.
Troubleshooting
If your Zap is set up but isn't receiving events, check that the Rental unit is still on a plan that includes Zapier, and that the Sensor and Rental unit are active.
Ideas to get started
Get an email or Slack message when noise monitoring sends its first warning, so you can enforce house rules without confronting Guests.
Add a row to a Google Sheet when a Sensor's battery is low, to keep track of maintenance.
Turn on the lights through your lighting app when motion is detected while the alarm is armed.
