Point is the smart home alarm that lets you protect and monitor your home while respecting your privacy. No cameras. No wires. No data loopholes. Transparency builds trust, so we like to inform our users about what data we store and why we do this.

What does Point log? Point measures and logs temperature, humidity, pressure, noise levels, motion, battery levels, and a set of diagnostics data including Wi-Fi connectivity. Most of the data that is visible in the app is stored at a per-minute interval.

No raw sound data leaves the device. Point does most of the calculations locally on the device itself. Only the necessary data is sent to your phone -- that means no one can ever listen to whatever is said in your home.

All communication within the system is encrypted, including to and from Point.

Point app will ask you when more information is needed, and will explain to you why. For example, our app requests camera permissions from your phone only when you use the camera to take a profile picture. If additional permissions are required for other purposes, Point app will explain to you why this is requested and what information we store.
